Shaker Heights Community Park

Shaker Heights created a new city park by utilizing a former school ground and a police impound lot. The master plan for the eleven-acre site in the center of the city features a 'Round the World Playground that reflects the multicultural diversity of the city; Multi-purpose Ballfields (1 Soccer, 2 Softball); and a half mile Loop Path have also been implemented. Public participation was a key element in the design and construction of this project. American Society of Landscape Architects - Ohio Chapter Merit Award 1996.
